Creamy Feta Sauce
This 5 minute feta sauce will become one of your go to dips! Tangy Greek yogurt mixed with herbs, lemon, lots of garlic and salty feta; this sauce will be a refrigerator staple.

This feta sauce is based off of a dressing at one of my favorite Greek restaurants in our hometown. It’s thick and creamy with big chunks of feta cheese and served with almost all of the restaurant’s dishes. When we moved away, I found myself craving it all of the time.
I knew I had to find a way to recreate it and surprisingly, I prefer this recipe now!
If you have tried my whipped ricotta and feta dip, you’ll love this variation. It is a simple 5 minute recipe that uses ingredients you may already have at home. I use full fat Greek yogurt, fresh lemon juice, some minced herbs and the most important part- chunks of salty feta and fresh garlic. This sauce works great on wraps, as a dip for my favorite roasted radishes ( or any roasted veg!), and even along side crispy fries. The possibilities are endless.
So, let’s get into it!
How to make this creamy feta sauce
Gather the ingredients
Greek yogurt- I like to use full fat yogurt to keep the consistency of the sauce thick. If you opt for a fat free Greek yogurt, the sauce may be a little runny.
Feta cheese- The quality of feta cheese really does matter. I always use a block of feta sitting in brine. Pre crumbled feta can be very dry.
Garlic- Fresh minced garlic is a must in this sauce. It adds a spicy bite that garlic powder just can’t mimic.
Lemon juice- This adds great acidity to the sauce.
Out of lemons? Try substituting red wine vinegar instead! The vinegar will add that same great acid flavor.
Oregano- I actually use dried oregano in this sauce because I always have it on hand. If you prefer to use fresh, add a full teaspoon of the minced leaves.
Fresh dill- Dried dill doesn’t have much flavor so fresh is best here.
Salt + Pepper

In a small dip bowl, add the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, oregano, chopped dill, salt and pepper and stir together. Next, fold in the chunks of feta cheese.
Before serving, let the sauce sit in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes, if you have the time! This will allow the flavors to develop.
How to serve the feta sauce
- Serve alongside crispy fries– my personal fave!
- Add it on top of a piece of crispy seared fish

- As a dip for your favorite roasted veggies
- Dip toasted pita wedges in the sauce for an afternoon snack
- Smear the sauce on your favorite wrap
- Swap the ranch dressing on a veggie tray for this sauce for a fun twist
