Designer Dresser Dupe: Get the high end look for less
I love the look of designer furniture.. who doesn’t? What I don’t like is paying thousands on one piece. So, I created a piece that gives me that high-end look without breaking the bank.

If you’re new here, my husband and I recently relocated to East Tennessee and bought a new construction house in the mountains. While we LOVE the location, I knew that I would want to add character and charm to our builder grade home. Follow along as I transform our new house into a home that feels collected, custom, and entirely our own- one project at a time.

Inspo: The Designer Dressers I loved
Before even finding a house to buy I started saving images of beautiful furniture that looked timeless and traditional but with a modern flare. I was immediately obsessed with McGee and Co. and Pottery Barn pieces. As we all know, their furniture is loved for their style and quality- two things that are super important to me when choosing furniture for our home. However I cannot justify spending thousands of dollars on a single piece; no matter how beautiful.
How I created this designer dresser dupe
When I first started looking for my designer dupe, I knew two things. I was clearly drawn to light oak colored wood and I wanted chunky polished nickel knobs. At McGee and Co., I saw a lot of layered knobs ( a back plate + a knob ) and fell in love with that high end look. Now, I have purchased hardware from Rejuvenation in the past but for this particular project I needed something a little more budget friendly than $30 a knob.
I found the perfect chunky drawer knob and matching backplate combination on Amazon!
This Amazon hardware cost about $5.50 per set (one knob + one backplate)

Polished Chrome Knobs: I used 1 1/4 inch knobs to achieve that chunky look.
Polished Chrome Backplate: I had trouble linking the actual backplate I used but it is the same brand as the knob in the link above. This is the title of the backplate item if you should need it!

Searching for a Dresser
I was on the hunt for a solid wood dresser and was lucky enough to find a beautiful one at a locally owned furniture warehouse. It had large wooden knobs but I knew the color would look beautiful with shiny polished nickel.

I’ll always encourage you to get out and look for a one of a kind piece of your own but in case you don’t have the time or maybe furniture shopping is not how you want to spend your free time, I’ve found a couple of similar look options on Amazon.
