Easy Olive Cheese Bread
Olive cheese bread: Crispy garlic French bread loaded with gooey mozzarella cheese, olives and green onions. This easy olive cheese bread will transform your weeknight spaghetti night!

This olive cheese bread is the best version I’ve tried! The recipe actually is one my entire family has been making for as long as I can remember; so maybe I’m biased. Either way, it is the perfect side dish or appetizer…. Or if you love cheese bread as much as me, the perfect main dish with glass of wine or cocktail. No judgement here!
As much as I love to serve olive cheese bread on its own, it will completely update your “spaghetti Tuesday”. I love the idea of replacing a plain freezer garlic bread with something a little extra special! It makes weeknight meals a little more exciting. And I promise this recipe is so simple you’ll want to make it every time.
So let’s get into it!
How to make olive cheese bread
Gather your ingredients
Loaf of french bread: For this recipe I like to use regular ole French bread. The crispy exterior crust and the soft inside make this bread so delicious!
Mozzarella cheese: To get that ooey-gooey cheese pull, you will want to use pre-shredded mozzarella cheese. As much as I love fresh mozzarella, it’s hard to achieve that cheesy factor we want for the olive bread.
Green onions
Black olives: My family has always used ripe black olives in this recipe so that’s what we are using today.
If you are not a fan of black olives, try replacing them with kalamata or green olives. I have never personally used anything other than black for this recipe but I think they would be equally delicious!
Butter: I like to use salted butter in this recipe but if you only have unsalted on hand, sprinkle on 1/4 tsp of salt on to each half of the French bread after spreading the butter on.
Mayonnaise
Garlic powder

Start by cutting your French bread in half down the middle so that you have a bottom piece and a top piece.
Next spread on the softened butter, then the mayonnaise and garlic powder.
Chop up your green onions and sprinkle on the bread evenly; followed by the chopped black olives.
Generously top the two halves of bread with the shredded mozzarella cheese and bake until brown!
Simple but SO delicious!
